Refresh and Refocus

The semester is flying by, we are already on week 8 of classes. Spring break is so close, but midterms are here too. Here are a few tips on how to stay focused, even with Spring break.

Make A To-Do List.

To Do, List, Task List, Notes, Written

Making a to-do list not only keeps you organized, but it also helps you prioritize your tasks. This will help you focus on each task individually. Once you finish a task, cross it off the to-do list. This will give you more motivation and focus for the next item.

Set Goals.

In order to stay focused and motivated, you need to identify what you are working towards. Start by setting a main goal for the semester. Then, set smaller goals for each week that contribute toward the main goal. For example, set a main goal of getting an 80% or above on your final exam. Then, set a weekly goal of studying for the class 1 hour every day. This will help you stay focused and determined.

Be Realistic.

Friends, Dog, Pet, Woman Suit, Sunset, Human, Trust

It is okay to not be focused 24/7. Students need to be able to recharge and relax, otherwise they will burn out. There are various ways to reset your mind and feel good. Some options include; physical exercise, calling a friend, playing with a pet, or even just listening to some good music.

Have A Study Partner.

It can be easy to go to the library with the intention to do work, but then find yourself on your phone checking out the Career Center’s latest post. Next time try taking a friend with you to help you stay on task. Before going, make it clear you both want to get work done and will help each other stay focused.
