Years before I ever read this book, I went to Tuscany on a trip with the History Club at my high school! Under the Tuscan Sun is packed with picturesque details of Italian culture, language and of course, food. If you need a book to bring some sunlight into the upcoming gloom of Minnesota winters, this is the one for you.
Anne of Green Gables – Lucy Maud Montgomery
I bought this book from a sprawling second hand bookstore in Lisbon, Portugal. I read it all in a few days. One of my all-time favorite activities is reading -I have an English degree after all- and reading while sitting in a park in Portugal is one of the most epic places I have ever been captivated by a story. Plus, Anne of Green Gables is an adventurous tale about friendship and school and using your imagination to find new ways of being.
