Husky Create-a-thon

Join us online via Microsoft Teams on November 21st (8 AM – 8 PM) for 12 hours of creation, innovation, fun & prizes.

The Create-a-thon is a 12-hour event that harnesses creative talent from students participating from any major or field. It gives students the opportunity to practice team building and leadership skills, gain real-world marketing and presentation experience, and get exposed to modern technologies and tools while deepening their understanding of our community and creating a sense of student belonging. The goal of the event is to bring out ideas that can be later built into products or services that are compelling for students to use and foster student engagement.

What is Create-a-thon?

Light Bulb Idea IconThe Create-a-thon is a brainstorming event for ideas that matter to the community around us. An opportunity to bring your ideas to create a concept that can facilitate the involvement and engagement of the campus.

We are looking for students to work together and come up with a prototype of an idea to showcase it to the judges. You do not need to be an expert, just willing to step out of your comfort zone and bring out your creativity inside of you.

THINK. DESIGN. CREATE.

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of mind to think.” – Albert Einstein

Why You?Person questioning why

Do you like brainstorming innovative ideas? Are you good at marketing and explaining ideas to others? Do you like to research what others think about products or services? Do you like to code and create applications? The create-a-thon leverages student thinking in these and other interest areas to generate ideas and/or prototypes for real-world problems.

The event will give you an opportunity to learn and practice new skills to be better positioned in their academic and career aspirations. Some skills include:

  • Team building
  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Resource utilization

If this sounds interesting and exciting, join us on November 21st for a 12-hour long event by registering.
