Clean Refreshing Drinking water

Elain Kolaru

hello everyone and happy holidays, I know its been along time since I last post but I am back .

todays topic is about clean water. you know I really thought to myself what will happen to me if i was stuck in a desert and had no clean water to drink or if at home I opened up the fossette and the water was not clear what you I really be able to do.

I was able to do some research and I was able to find some great resources . according to the CDC there are a few ways to make sure you are consuming clean drinkable water. this few steps you are able to do it anywhere .

  1. Filter it through a clean cloth, paper towel, or coffee filter OR allow it to settle.
  2. Draw off the clear water.
  3. Bring the clear water to a rolling boil for 1 minute (at elevations above 6,500 feet, boil for three minutes).
  4. Let the boiled water cool.
  5. Store the boiled water in clean sanitized containers with tight covers. when we consume dirty water we don’t know what kind of germs we letting inside our body . water can transmit many diseases  back in 2017 almost 1.6 million died from contaminated water. take if from me dirty water can cause a lot more harm than you think.  growing up I got really sick from drinking unclean water. I never knew that with just a few steps I would be able to make unpurified water clean. you can make your own filter water that means no more bottle water no more plastic. you ca make clean purified water yourself.

I know that some of you may think that buying bottle water can fix it all but I don’t know about you but the pandemic really taught me a lot . basic things like battle water is no longer guarantied to us. with covid I have had times that I went to the store and there was no more water. if only I knew that with just a few basic things I can get my own clean water. if you did not learn anything today from my post I want you to at least remember clean water started with you.

I want to thank you for your time and until next time . have a great Christmas and a happy new year.

reasons we need compost

Hello again

Last time I was bringing your attention to clean air today I am wanting to discuss about the benefits and the need of composting.  I find that clean air and composting correlate with each other because it helps us have a good understanding on how to take care of our earth right from home with just simple steps. I can admit  I am not  an expert but after some research I am more educated about what composting is , how to compost and what to compost. in this blog I will be providing you more information on how to compost and how with just a few easy steps you can compost from

Before getting into details  of how to compost I want to educate you more on what composting is as a whole and why its good for the earth.

Composting is the natural process of recycling matter things such as leaves, food scraps basically anything that can grow and decomposes. we are speeding up the process by creating an environment for bacteria, fungi and decomposing organism such as worms, bugs to finish up the job we started. farmers call compost black gold because of its rich nutrient it can be used for gardening and agriculture

.

Benefits of compose

#1 composting feeds the soil.

#2 reduces the needs for chemical fertilizer.

#3 prevents soil erosion

#4 reduces waste

the list below will be what to compost and what we should be composting.

yes                                           No

coffee                                    black walnut tree

egg shells                               coal/charcoal

fruits                                           any dairy products

vegetables                                       fats

leaves                                              oil

tea bag                                        meat, fish

nutshell                                          pet feces

I am hoping that with my list of what we can compost and what we can’t you can find things in your home  that you can compost. with the information I have provided you I want to still encourage you to still do more research composting . I personally was not sold in composting until I saw views and saw easy it was, I was even more sold on the idea of composting when I learned how much good it does for our environment.

Taking care of our environment once again starts with me and you. we as a community can start . the same way it does not take one day to end word hunger is the same way its not going to take one day of composting to end toxic waste and pollution we have to start and keep on protecting out world. the way we only get one body is the same way we only get one world to live in so we have to keep it looking and feeling good and that all starts with composting.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog and until next time keep protecting our earth.
