All About Breakfast

My entire life I’ve heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Whether you believe that or not, I have to say that you can’t go wrong with getting breakfast in Garvey.  I say this because 1) I love breakfast foods and 2) I don’t have to cook.  When it comes to breakfast Garvey offers a few stations and breakfast is the cheapest meal if you don’t have a meal plan and are paying out of pocket.  Here are my thoughts on all the breakfast options:

My Pantry:

My Pantry is open all day but is most visited during breakfast as My Pantry is home to the coffee machine, waffle makers, cereal dispenser, toast, and bagels.  In my experience My Pantry is the best place to go if you need a quick breakfast before running off to class.  You can have a toasted bagel with

in minutes and while you’re waiting you can fix yourself a cup of coffee in a to-go cup.  Toppings in My Pantry consist of butter, peanut-butter, Nutella, cream cheese, jelly, and honey all conveniently in individual packaging.  When I don’t feel like anything else in Garvey the waffles are delicious, particularly when topped with Strawberry cream cheese and Nutella.

Breakfast at The Grill

The Grill:

In the mornings The Grill is transformed from the stereotypical burgers to having breakfast sandwiches, breakfast pizza, and homemade donuts.  The Grill is also where you can find whatever fruit Garvey has to offer.  Usually Garvey has bananas and apples, however I’ve also seen pears, oranges, and nectarines depending on the season.  I normally don’t eat food from The Grill but my roommates swear by Garvey’s breakfast sandwiches.

Comfort Station:

At the Comfort Station you can always find scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, and sausage.

I spend a ton of time at this station as it is my number one go-to for breakfast.  I grab some eggs, bacon sometimes, and then head to the pantry to get some toast.  On the rare occasion that I’m feeling up to it, I will grab french toast sticks as well.

Omelet Bar:

The last aspect of Garvey breakfast is the Omelet bar.  Each person has the opportunity to pick what veggies they want and then an employee will ask what type of meat you want and if you

want cheese.  Arguably the Omelet Bar is the best part of breakfast.  You can change up the omelet every day.  My go to omelet is one with black olives, spinach, and peppers then I usually add in ham and cheese.  Usually the veggie options are tomatoes, onions, papers, spinach, black olives, and jalapenos.

I know that I’m only one person, so I talked with a few students about their take on Garvey Breakfast.

Kyle Janssen is a sophomore who said, “My favorite part of Garvey Breakfast is the omelet station.  I usually put green pepper, onion, tomato and bacon in my omelets.  Then, I ALWAYS have orange juice.”

Ben Cornelius is a senior who said, “I like breakfast  in Garvey because of the Omelets and the fact that in the mornings its nice to sit by a sunny window and eat breakfast.”

Saige Arnold is a sophomore.  She says, “Garvey Breakfast is the best meal that Garvey has to offer all day everyday!  My favorite thing to eat for breakfast is waffles and chocolate milk.”

Maddi Amundson is a sophomore and said, “Garvey Breakfast is good.  The last time I went I had a bagel with cream cheese and of course chocolate milk because you cannot go wrong with chocolate milk!

Breakfast in Garvey happens from from 7 am until 10 am during the week and from 9 am until 10 am on the weekends.
