VideoNotes (http://www.videonot.es/) is a free web tool that allows students to take notes on a video they are watching. The notes are synchronized with the video being watched. The good thing about VideoNotes is that it is integrated into Google Drive which means that students will be able to save their notes directly to their Drive account and access, edit, and work on them anytime they want. All the notes are time-stamped.

We are still seeing a backlog in the email queue for D2L notifications, and delays of 10-20 hours before users receive the email messages. The mail is moving, but new messages are coming in as fast as old ones are going out, so the queue level remains high.
We have escalated this issue on our internal IT teams as well as with D2L. We will keep you informed of the status as we continue the investigation.

If you forget to check the box in front of auto export
and the quiz grades do not get exported to the D2L grade item, please consider this “SCSU TechInstruction” YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMDXcx_INU4, how to fix the problem

Update on D2L issues in Chrome browser:
Chrome 32 has resolved the issue with miniature-sized frames inside some D2L tools.
Chrome 32 has introduced a new issue with D2L at screens that bring up a separate window with a list of options, such as “Insert Quicklinks”. After a lengthy wait time, a blank window displays in the pop-up and does not populate with information.
D2L has identified this as a browser bug that Google Chrome intends to fix in version 33, but preliminary testing of the current beta version of Chrome 33 shows that the issue still exists.
D2L recommends using a different browser until Google Chrome has a release that resolves this issue.

D2L Document Viewer
We made some adjustments to our environment that appear to have alleviated the document viewer issue. We are still closely monitoring the viewer queue, and would appreciate your prompt reports if users experience the spinning “loading” icon when trying to view documents in Content or Dropbox.
D2L Email and Notification Delays
We also made some changes for email, and continue to monitor the email queue. This issue is still under investigation. If you experience delays, please report via the ticket system with details of the time the email was sent or notification alert occurred, and when the email was actually received.
Thanks for your patience on these issues.
Do student evaluations measure teaching effectiveness?Manager’s Choice
Mauricio Vasquez, Ph.D.Assistant Professor in MISTop Contributor
Higher Education institutions use course evaluations for a variety of purposes. They factor in retention analysis for adjuncts, tenure approval or rejection for full-time professors, even in salary bonuses and raises. But, are the results of course evaluations an objective measure of high quality scholarship in the classroom?

The D2L document viewer is experiencing issues. In Content and Dropbox, users may see a spinning icon and a blank background, but the documents do not load. We are working to resolve the issue.
Users may download and view the documents as a temporary workaround.
We appreciate your patience as we work on alleviating the problem.
