Featured Pub: Olde Brick House

Because Saint Patrick’s Day is coming up and everyone is looking forward to celebrating locally, the writers here at Irishly Minnesotan decided to round up some of the great Minnesotan Irish pubs. This week’s featured pub is the Olde Brick House in Saint Cloud!

Olde Brick House celebrates its Irish heritage by being the only Traditional Irish pub in central Minnesota. According to WJON, a saloon has always resided in the place where Olde Brick House now calls home, however, Olde Brick House is the first Irish themed saloon to live at 102 6th Avenue South. After opening in 2017, Olde Brick House has become a staple for Saint Cloud bar hoppers and Guinness patrons alike.

Olde Brick House boasts a variety of traditionally Irish meals, right down to Shepherd’s Pie and Guinness fried Fish and Chips! Guinness is featured across the appetizers, in cheese sauce, gravy, soups, and is a true staple in its home behind the bar on tap. Of course, no Irish themed pub would be complete without Jameson, and Olde Brick House is no exception. The menu for Jameson includes Jameson Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie, Jameson Whiskey Sauce atop many of their burgers, and even a Jameson BBQ Sauce.

Olde Brick House is also apart of the 2nd Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Saint Cloud, and following up the festivities with a tent party and live band.

In order to reconnect to my favorite trip where I studied abroad in the United Kingdom, I always get the fish and chips. And, as expected, with each bite brings me back to the cobblestone streets and salty fresh air thousands of miles away. As this writer can confirm, the Olde Brick House is a great place to get in touch with your inner Irishman and you’ll probably find yourself sharing tales over a pint of your favorite Irish brew.
