Free Cars or Free Car Repairs!!!

Car Assistance for Students on a budget!!

As students we often worry about if our car breaks down or how to get around using the bus system. We have limited funds and most of them go to school and to eat.  I found that there are organizations that would help you get your car repaired or get a used car for free!!

1.) Salvation Army will help you with car repairs. I often think of them as just a place for clothing, but they are so much more.

2.) United Methodist Church Car Ministry they will give free used cars and car repairs to low income and working poor individuals.

3.) Wheel Get there & Wheel Get There Too is an organization in southern MN. They receive donated vehicles and then they resell them to low-income individuals or individuals on government assistance. (507)345-6822

4.) Community Auto Repair and Redistribution Service (CARS) located in Minneapolis (952) 881-1115

5.) Getting There is located in Shakopee, and you can get in contact them for car repair assistance and cars. (952)496-2125

6.) 1-800-Charity Cars they are a national organization, and they help low -income families, special needs, and military veterans with free vehicles. (800)242-7489

7.) The Hub Garage is for single mothers who need help with car repairs. They have helped save single mothers $1,600,000.00. That is a lot of help to mothers who need to get to work or school.

These are some of just some of the resources we can use. Also, if you are on the St. Cloud University campus our Public Safety provides 24-hour assistance with jump starting your car if needed. There are blue lights on campus if you need to contact them. Remember this if your car won’t start on campus.

CAR REPAIR IS SOMETHING WE CAN BARE!!

How to stop paying for college and still get a degree!

COLLEGE IN MINNESOTA IS FREE!!

by Marsa Mason

Hey guys!!

I am so excited to share this with you! I had the opportunity as a part of Student Senate and Lead MN to plead for us to have FREE COLLEGE. I spoke to Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, llhan Omar and even BIDEN!! It was an amazing experience to have this opportunity to share my story of why we need free college. It was an amazing moment to sit in as they voted on passing North Star.

Here my commercial for the free college as well:

It is called the North Star Promise Program, and it is coming in Fall 2024! Here are the requirements to get assistance with the program.

Maximum Award Amounts
There is no maximum length of
time that students can receive
the NSP, but there are credit
limits.
For students earning a:
2-year Associate Degree:
Receive NSP up to 60 credits
4-year Bachelor’s Degree:
Receive NSP up to 120 credits

To break this down your household can’t be over $80,000 so if you live with individuals who do… it time to move. Also, this is not for private college or universities. You can’t have a Bachelor degree and you have to be a Minnesota resident. You will apply for financial aid and what the grants don’t cover then this will come into play for you. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION: https://www.ohe.state.mn.us/Documents/North%20Star%20Promise//North%20Star%20Promise%20Scholarship%20Fact%20Sheet_ADA.pdf

Guys!! In 2024 we no longer have to stress about how to pay for college. We can focus for classwork and having a better future!! I hope this helped you guys and I hope you spread the word to others so that they enroll in college as well!! Thank you to the Legislators and Senators who helped make this possible!

Huge Discounts for College students to see Broadway Shows!

Huge Discounts for College Students to see Broadway Shows in MN!!

Do you enjoy live music and plays then you will love this great deal! College students get the best available seats for a very low price. You can enjoy a night out with a theatre show for sometimes as low as $30.00 and be in the second row!! This happened to me as I wanted to see a theatre show… but I am a college student on a budget. I saw in small writing that there was an option where you needed to show your id if you are in college when I went to pay for my tickets. I stopped the transaction and the day of the show I went to the theater. I asked” On the website it stated that you could get a discount if you show your id. Is that true?” She advised it was true. I still didn’t know what the discount was or was I going to get a nosebleed seat attached to this.  The tickets for a good seat were over $200.00. She said ” We can get you second row and it will be $30.00. I was happy and amazed. Now the kicker is that you do have to pay in cash only for this discount. I had to run to the atm at the restaurant new door. It is based on the cost of the show & seat so you can pay between $30-$60 per ticket. It will give you the best seat available.

The theatres that participate in this are the Orpheum, State, and Pantages. https://hennepintheatretrust.org/box-office/group-sales/group-categories/ On this page you will see you get discounts, but you can also do meet and greets as students.  I do need to let you know that this is for Broadway shows so the discount doesn’t apply to comedy shows or concerts that occur at these venues.

Don’t miss out because for the 2023-2024 year there are some great Broadway shows coming such as Ms. Doubtfire, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Alladin, Bettle Juice, Lion King, and so much more!! Here is a list of the shows that are coming. https://hennepintheatretrust.org/events/

Free Movies !!

FREE MOVIES

By Marsa Mason

You can see movies and…. YES, it is totally FREE ! I have been seeing movies at the movie theater for years without paying. Sometimes you even get free popcorn, drinks, posters, and giveaways. It is super fun to see the movie before it comes out for no cost. The reason this is offered is to help with reviews for the movie. You can give a review online or in person after you have seen the movie. I use the website Gofobo . You can do| Movie Screenings, Movie Reviews, Sweepstakes, Movie Trailers, and more.

You will get emails from this site when a prescreener is coming up. You can also check the website periodically to get your tickets first. Due to the movie being free the website does get alot of traffic. Gofobo is not the only site. There is the website Advance Movie Screenings (advancescreenings.com) You must register on each site to start getting movie tickets to your email.

The Last website that you can register to see movies before they come out is on Amazon. Amazon Screenings

This website allows you to see movies and shows that Amazon will put on this website. You can see them before they come out see if it is something you want to continue to watch on Amazon. What I love is the cost of it being free and I get to see the movies before they come out in the theatre. As a college student I want to relax and laugh, and this allows me to do so for FREE! You can save your money for concessions if you like.

I definitely recommend that you register on these sites as giving your opinions will help with reviews for movies. You win by having fun, getting free stuff, and voicing your opinion!

Free groceries

Hey Guys!

So glad you came back for week 2!!

Food is expensive and we have to use all our money for books for college, so we have to find ways to still eat good! I wanted to give you a couple of options of free groceries options. St. Cloud State has a food pantry that is absolutely wonderful!  They give you a reusable bag and they have so many options for food. If you want frozen food, dairy, eggs, grains or fruits and veggies. They have individual rooms for the items. You don’t have to ask as the rooms are clearly labelled of what is in each room.

They have an option where you can get assistance with getting SNAP which is government assistance for getting groceries as well. They add money from the government each month so that you can obtain groceries. As college students this a great resource as well so that you can go grocery shopping without a lot of worry.  You may also be eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. If you want to see if you may be eligible for SNAP benefits, take the SNAP Eligibility Screening Survey. The screening survey is available to current registered students and requires log-in with your Office 365 account (starid@go.minnstate.edu and StarID password)

This is from the St. Cloud State Website Huskies Food Pantry | St. Cloud State University (stcloudstate.edu) The information below is directly from this page as well.

Free Movies before they come out!!

As college students we need to be able to enjoy life and also due to the cost of college we need to make sure are using the money we have wisely. College life is stressful and so are movies and that is not even including concessions at the movies. I love movies and I enjoy not paying anything to see them. THAT’S RIGHT FOR FREE!!! To do this you will need to register for www.gofobo.com or www. advancescreenings.com. You will be able to see the movie before your friends and family. You will see pre-screeners as they call them.

The reason they allow this is they need your feedback and options on how the movie was and what you would like to see changed. It helps the producers, advertiser, and profit for them. Do you ever wonder how do they get those quotes for the commercials for the movies? Example: “It was riveting, or this movie is what everyone needs to see!” These quotes are coming from individuals feedback that have seen the movie before it came out. There is no paperwork you will just verbally give your opinion and feedback and they write it down.

Things you need to know:

1.) When you receive an email, you want to click on it as soon as possible because the movies fill up fast.

2) You need to arrive to the theater early as it is free so it will be a line. Bring a chair to mark your spot or to sit while you wait.

3) The screenings are located in St. Louis Park, Roseville, Edina, and sometimes in Minneapolis.

4) You will only be able to get 2 tickets and there are sometimes where you can get up to 4. If you don’t have all of your people with you it can cause an issue, so make sure you have enough or don’t have to many tickets.

5) There are giveaways at some of the screenings such as gift cards, shirts, bags, free photobooth with props, fun activities, and very rare you even get free popcorn!!
