Doctoral student Ron Schwint attended the ASP Trainer Certification (ATC) conference in Las Vegas. The first day of ATC is dedicated to existing Trainer recertification, comprising both classroom and accelerated, high-intensity physical evolutions to maintain trainers as subject matter experts in the field. During the week Ron conducted presentations, instructor development, and mentoring for nine new trainer candidates in dynamic drills with batons, restraints, and lights ensuring that the candidates became subject matter experts on ASP equipment and tactics. A major part of the conference was dedicated to the instructional design and delivery of a new OC course for ASP that Ron was involved in as the instructional designer.
