This summer, current St. Cloud State Higher Education Administration Ed.D. student, Clare Rahm, had her research on interim leadership featured in Leadership Exchange. This past year, Rahm took the next step in her career, moving from St. Cloud State to become the Special Assistant to the President for Student Affairs at Oberlin College and Conservatory (Oberlin, Ohio).  With over 30 years of dedicated service across various student affairs opportunities, Rahm is well-respected within higher education circles. Rahm’s recent partnership with her fellow authors, Eileen Sullivan, Jeff Ewing, and Graydon Stanley, Interim Leaders Can Fill The Management Gap – a New Opportunity for the Profession and Higher Education, was not only a feature presentation at the 2021 NASPA Conference but curated into this article in Leadership Exchange – a magazine that delivers expert analysis on the latest trends in student affairs and insider perspectives from leaders in higher education and management.

The article results from a partnership with peers who either served in an interim role or hired an interim leader and is Rahm’s first co-authoring adventure. Grateful for the opportunity to partner with other respected leaders in the field, Rahm expressed enjoyment for the entirety of the process. Way to go, Clare!
