UNIVO Language and Culture Program

We just said goodbye to our friends from UNIVO. Over the course of a few weeks we had this group of students for a language and culture experience. The first few days after arriving the students adjusted to Minnesota’s winter and their class schedules. Their class schedules consisted of English classes Monday through Friday. The students were very enthusiastic about their classes and expanding their English language skills.

During this program the students also participated in a variety of activities. Some excursions they enjoyed were:

Shopping at the largest mall in the U.S., the Mall of America.
Huskies hockey
Ice skating

Language and Culture Group

The Mall of America has up to 500 different stores including clothes, toys, and food. The students enjoyed exploring the mall and its many shops, they even got a few souvenirs. Hockey is one of the most thrilling sports to watch and a big staple of Minnesota culture. Ice skating is another part of Minnesota pastimes in winter and spring. As time got closer for the students to depart they expressed their interest in coming back in the future and reminisced about their time here.
