While reading this article, I found that it really specified how to integrate and apply VR in education. Before reading it, I thought the first Global Teleportation and second The Time Machine Effect is the only benefits of the VR in education. However, not only for academic teaching, students can also train their various social skills from VR such as Virtual Rehearsal. For my experiences, it is hard to teach students who are afraid of presenting in front of others. But, this is great way to practice and improve different skills beyond the academic assist. What I am concerned about is the accessibility of VR glasses and mobile devices which can download apps. And are there teacher training programs for how to use it in school settings?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Yoonjeong!
To your question, if there are teacher training programs to prepare pre-service teachers for their work in school settings. One of the obstacles to easily create such programs at this point, is the infancy of the technology. Most of the learning objects (e.g. a teacher training program) need to be coded in Unity. Imagine Internet in the mid 1990s, when Interenet was booming, but most web pages were created by typing the HTML code. It was slow and expensive; few could do it, since they had to know HTML. Then came WISWIG platforms to “write” the code for the user automatically; the early versions of, e.g. Adobe Dreamweaver.
In the same fashion, right now, there is a drive to create such WISWIG interface for writing automatically Unity code as well other platforms for seamless creation of VR and AR content. For example a team of SCSU instructors: Mark Gill, Alan Srock and Scott Miller, just made a pitch for a grant: https://www.facebook.com/InforMediaServices/videos/565431743968548/, which aims exactly the creation of such “simple” interface, where the instructor can “teach” students using VR googles. The instructor can “create” content and control the content on the fly, while teaching in VR.
Please share your thoughts and ideas knowing such environment is very close to reality.
